Vilamoura is an outstanding holiday resort, one of the best in the southern area of Europe. It is about 25 years old, covers some 4000 hectares of land, which includes many wonderful holiday complexes, 5 championship golf courses and all of this surrounds one of Europe's largest marina's, where you can walk, sit, take a coffee and eat some of the very best cuisine in Portugal.

The resort of Vilamoura is a swish glitzy resort and in summer you will certainly see a few Ferrari and Porsche parked around the marina. You can walk to Quarteira market from Vilamoura, or hire a car and visit the rest of the Algarve. Albufeira is about 10 minutes by car, Quinta do Lago and the Golden Triangle also about 10 minutes drive.
