Praia Da Rocha started life in the 1930's as a quiet and elegant resort. However, with lowcost flights by airlines in the 1970's coinciding with the boom in apartments being built, the creation of the Algarves second largest resort was complete.
Praia Da Rocha has a beach that is 2km long and it is just delightful to stroll along of an evening or maybe sit and take a drink, watching the world go by.

Praia Da Rocha is a very popular place and is close to many golf courses in the Algarve, the Monchique Range, the local fishing ports of Alvor, Portimao and Praia Da Rocha itself have many boats offering to take you fishing at reasonable prices.
You can also get a 1 hour boat ride from Portimao Marina which will take you into the historical town of Silves. They will usually give you 2 hours in the town before bringing you back to your drop off point.
For those with families and maybe wanting a bit more fun for the children you have Zoomarine, which as you can guess is full of water animals including seals and wonderful dolphin shows, perfect for kids of all ages. Then you have several water park with plenty to do which will keep you busy all day.
At night Praia Da Rocha is vibrant and full of bars and restaurants along with a Casino to keep you amused.
